What a lovely Easter Sunday! We were expecting rain that day, but it ended up being a beautiful, cloudless sky. The kind of sky you picture in your mind when you think of Easter Sunday. Ashley woke to her Easter basket from the Easter Bunny filled with stickers, coloring books, puzzles and candy. Then we went to church and saw our friends, Lindsey and Jaime and their two little boys, Noah and Jude. After church, we met up with Paul's family (parents and extended family) at the Dominion country club for a delicious Easter brunch. It was the most wonderful brunch I had ever seen. I enjoyed several of the food choices, including a poached egg on a crab cake. Interesting combo, but DELICIOUS!! There were so many lovely choices like smoked salmon and cream cheese on bagels as well as several "lunch" type choices like baked salmon, shredded pork, and grilled asparagus with priscuitto ham. I even had an Irish coffee and a slice of chocolate turtle cake!! YUMMO!! I gave up chocolate for Lent, so I was thrilled to eat the chocolate! :o) There was even food for the kids. Ash had mac and cheese and sausage. After the brunch, we went to Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Travy's house for some Easter festivities, including an egg hunt!! Ashley played in the sandbox while the bigger kids dyed easter eggs inside. Then it was time for the hunt. Ashley did such a good job. Aunt Cheryl not only had candy in the eggs, but she also put some money in some of them. Ashley collected tons of candy and some money for her piggy bank! Not only did Aunt Cheryl have the wonderful hunt planned but each of the girls got a beautiful Easter basket charm for their James Avery charm bracelets. Thank you so much Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Travy for all of the wonderful Easter gifts, brunch and fun festivities at your home. It was a beautiful and blessed day with wonderful weather and people we love. He has Risen! Hallelujah!!
