Corey in 3D!!

No 3D glasses required!  hahaha

Earlier this week, Paul, Ashley and I went to get a 3D/4D sonogram of Corey.  He is a beautiful little boy and looks just like his sister.  The sonographer said that he has gorgeous lips and a lot of hair.  We asked the sonographer if she can tell the difference between each baby and she said ABSOLUTELY.  She said that is why she loves her job so much - she gets to find a special little characteristic that makes each baby unique.  She said that Corey's is his lips.  He better pucker up because his Mommy is going to be kissing those little lips a whole bunch! We are so excited to meet this little guy.  Below is a little movie that Paul made of the sonogram video.  It's about 4 and a half minutes long.  Click on the link below to enjoy a sneak peak of our handsome little boy. This is us right after we got the sonogram.

We tried to get all three of us, but Ashley was not having it. (little did we know a stomach bug was brewing)

I love my husband

I don't want to sound cliche but I just have to say that I am fortunate and lucky to have a husband that loves me the way Paul does.  I hope that he always knows how much I care and love him just as much.  He makes me laugh all the time, is a great listener, takes great care of me, always tells me that he thinks I am beautiful (even when I am big and pregnant) and most importantly shares the love of God with me in all that he says and does. He truly is my best friend and knows me better than I do!  I know how rare it is to find that one love that makes a person complete, and I know that I have found that in Paul.  We are going on our 10th year together and I can honestly say that I love him more and more everyday.  Thank you so much Paul for being such an amazing father, soulmate and friend.  I honestly do not know what I would do without you.

Citrus Craving

Bring on the citrus!  That's all I gotta say.  I can't remember having any cravings while pregnant with Ashley, but boy, this little guy gets me on the craving train BIG TIME!  I remember thinking that it was a load of you-know-what when women said that they had cravings while pregnant.  I thought it was just an excuse to eat more!  Well, I have to say now that I TOTALLY understand.  My cravings change a lot, but my most consistent one has been CITRUS!  I LOVE CITRUS!  I have to need to constantly have an orange, drink orange juice, eat grapefruit, make lemonade, have citrus flavored ice pops, add lemons to my dinner recipes - I just can't get enough! I even have citrus hand lotion and I prefer fruit flavored gum over mint because it makes me feel good!  Aghhhh, it's crazy!

Hope for Haiti

I don't know about you, but the devistation from the earthquake in Haiti really just hit me hard.  It's so upsetting, and I feel like in the midst of it all, I am just living my normal daily life and these people are living in ruins, wondering where their family is or if they are still alive.  I am so blessed to live the life that I live and be healthy.  I want to do something to help and I definitely plan on donating; however, I came across this blogger's website.  She designs blogs for a living, but has decided to set up a site called Hope for Haiti, and is going to be doing giveaways to raise money to support the people of Haiti.  I thought I should spread the word.

If you are unable to donate, please help by saying prayers.  I know the power of prayer is so strong and the more of us out there praying, the better.

God Bless all of you!

Sarah

***********Update: Paul recently researched StillerStrong.  Please see his message below about helping the relief efforts by donating to Ben Stiller's organization.

A few months ago Ben Stiller created “Stillerstrong” which is a charitable organization working with Save the Children to help build schools in Haiti. Although the name “Stillerstrong” is an intentional knock-off of Lance Armstrong’s “Livestrong” (instead of a yellow wrist band it’s a yellow headband) Stillerstrong is a real charity and currently 100% of the donations are going to benefit the relief efforts in Haiti. By the way, Lance and Ben are friends and are in a pretend “feud” over Ben using the name Stillerstrong which is pretty funny and you can see their feud on the following clip from Conan: http://www.hulu.com/watch/114567/the-tonight-show-with-conan-obrien-ben-stiller-part-4

The intentional Livestrong knock-off and subsequent “feud” has brought a lot attention to the charity and I think it was a really clever way to get the word out on a charity that is important to him without being the cliché “concerned celebrity with a cause.” http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2009/12/22/cho.ben.stiller.charity.cnn?iref=allsearch

If you were considering donating to the relief efforts, this might be a fun incentive to do it.

Thanks, Paul

28 weeks today! aka 7 Months Pregnant

Wow!  Today I am officially in my 3rd trimester!  Yikes! Time sure does fly by.  To the left is a picture of me taken this morning at work.  I am feeling nice and round! :)  On Friday, Paul stayed home with Ashley since her caretaker was sick.  He surprised me and cleaned the whole house and also got some of the baby's room organized, e.g. stuff off the walls, cleaned out drawers, etc.  I was so impressed.  It really helped! Now we can start making it baby ready instead of the "catch-all" room it has become.  I am a lucky girl to have such a considerate hubby.  :o)

Over the weekend, we also registered for a few items at Target.  We may go to Babies R Us this week to see a few other things, not sure yet.  Paul's work friends and my work friends are throwing us a baby shower next month.  We are so grateful for them.  This is so sweet and kind of them, considering this is our second child.  My sister-in-law, Camille, has been so generous to give me Vincent's clothes that he's grown out of, so we are pretty set in the clothes department; however, we do have some need for new bottles, bedding, xtra care seat base, etc.  There are so many new things out now and it's only been a little over three years since I had a baby.  Things sure do change quickly.  Anywho, later this week, I go for my glucose test which determines whether I have gestational diabetes or not.  It's always "fun" drinking a thick sugar filled drink.  :o(  Oh well, it has to be done, but I am not looking forward to it.  I also am getting some more blood work done and then the normal doctor checkup.  After this week, I will be going every two weeks.  And then once I am 36 weeks, I will visit the doctor weekly.  We are getting closer!!  The little man will be here before we know it!

P.S. Last night, after putting Ashley to bed I usually lay with her for a minute before saying goodnight.  She kept talking to my belly like usual but then proceeds to lay on my belly and sing Corey a song.  The words were so sweet. She sang it to the tune of one of her Little Einstein episodes "You are my best friend, I love you."  Then she said "Corey's my best friend Mom!  He's my girl!"  hahaha I think she gets her pronouns mixed up sometimes.

Gingerbread"man" House

I meant to post this earlier, but before Christmas this year, we decided to purchase a Gingerbread House Kit.  It seemed easy enough, came with all the candy, premade gingerbread, icing and a stand to put it on.  Ashley couldn't wait to make it.  The house came out cute, but needed a little help to support its weight, so we stacked up some books and CDs hoping to keep it together.  It lasted about a day or so, but Ashley was so proud of it.  As you can see from the picture, she was sampling the icing while decorating!  She decorated the whole thing too!  Paul put it together and I added the icing.  She doesn't just call it a Gingerbread house, it's a Gingerbread"man" house.  So cute!  Here is a picture of our creation with it's supporting "walls."
