He's here! Corey was born on April 1st at 9:24pm after only 6 1/2 hours of labor! Totally different experience than I had with Ashley. I was in labor for 29 hours with her! I felt much more in control this time around. I started having contractions around 4:00pm that day, and after I started timing them I realized that they were only 6 minutes apart! Paul was at work so I called him and said I think it's time. Thankfully Ashley was still at Judi's, so she was taken care of which brought me peace. Although, I felt bad that I didn't have a chance to say goodbye and knew the next time I would see her would most likely be sometime the following day.
When we got to the hospital, my contractions were getting stronger and stronger, and once they checked my cervix, I was already 5-6 centimeters dilated. Once I was moved from triage to labor and delivery, I was really starting to get uncomfortable. Finally I was able to get my epidural, and from then on I was great! At that point, it was about 7:00pm. The nurse said that I would probably have my baby in about 3 hours!! I was like, "What?!" And sure enough, after only about 10 minutes of pushing, little Corey made his debut at 9:24pm. He weighed 8lbs, 4oz, and is 20 inches long. He is absolutely precious and a wonderful little angel. We are so blessed!
A little kiss before the big "push" begins!
It's go time!
We did it! Welcome to the world little man!
We love him so much already!
