Corey - 5 months - September 1 |
Ok, here I am once again, posting Corey's 5 month update days before he turns 6 months old! This is a just like his four month update, but oh well, at least it is posted!
Corey turned five months old on September 1st and what a month has it been not only for his development but a busy month at that between his baptism, Paul's birthday, Ashley's birthday, traveling to Baltimore for a work conference and travel to York and NJ! I hope to post on those events soon!

Playing with his toes (notice he's wearing his gdiaper) :) |
He was around 15 pounds at the beginning of the month and I knew that only because we were back at the doctor for another ear infection and they weighed him at that appointment. I have a feeling he is going to be one of those kids who is eventually going to need tubes. Ashley never had many ear infections thankfully, but this little guy is very susceptible to them for some reason.

Hanging with Daddy - look at that little head! :) |

Tired boy at SeaWorld - such a cute yawn |
Corey is something else. He is a sweet little baby and really doesn't cry unless he is tired or hungry. He really isn't a fussy baby by any means, so when we started noticing that he was fussing a lot during the evenings we knew something was wrong. He not only had the ear infection, but we were starting him on rice cereal at night at he wasn't adjusting very well to the introduction of solids. He seemed to be very gassy and constipated. The doctor told us to back off for a bit and just stick with the breast milk and try introducing it again in a couple weeks. Well, before you know it, we were traveling and the doc said that it wouldn't be good to introduce solids again during a change in schedule and to wait until we were finished with traveling. So hear we are....a couple days from him turning 6 months and he hasn't had any solids yet. I am hoping to start this weekend with the rice cereal again and combining that with a fruit or veggie. Such a different experience than with Ashley. At this point she was way into her fruits and veggies. Just goes to show each child is different.

Early stage of his "tripod sitting" |
By the end of this month Corey is already starting to sit up on his own in more of a tripod fashion. It's so cute because he is so flexible and loves to chew on his toes while sitting. He is "talking" and squealing and laughing all the time now. He really LOVES to communicate and just smiles and smiles when you look at him. He is completely crazy about his big sister and she truly is the only one who can distract him from getting upset. I can always depend on Ashley to make him laugh if I can tend to him right away. I just say, "Ashley, can you go check on Corey and make him laugh!" She answers, "Sure I may!"

Absolutely LOVES his big sister. |

Exersaucer time! |
He is teething like crazy and loves to chew on whatever he can get a hold of. He is very strong and throws himself back like nobody's business! We started putting him in his exersaucer this month and also the walker. He kicks himself backward in the walker. It's so cute!
