Mommy's Little Helper

Recently, Ashley has taken an interest in the everyday things that we do around the house.  Incorporating her into those projects helps us blend the world of our responsibilities and the world of play into one.  Think back to your childhood and what do you remember the most?  Sure, vacations were nice and you probably remember some of your favorite toys.  Above all though, I’d be willing to bet that you remember the little things… riding on the front of a grocery cart, eating cake batter from the mixing bowl, being a “big helper” around the house, etc.  Distinguishing everyday responsibilities and play time as two separate things only creates unnecessary pressure on us since there is not enough time in the day to always balance both.  We make such an effort to be superhero parents when simply being a part of what we are doing may be the greatest memory that she will have of her childhood.
