Counting....

I guess age 4 going on 5 is when kids start having fun with seeing how far they can count.  Either counting up or counting down. Every time we have my Mom or Dad plan a visit, we usually start a countdown calendar. Ashley just loves to cross out the days and see that we are getting closer and closer to Nanny or Pop-Pop's arrival.

Ashley has always been good with counting, tripping up on the "teens" every now and then, "13...14...16...18...17...19...20!" She has been counting to twenty and thirty for some time now and just yesterday she surprised the heck out of me while I was doing her hair.  She got past 30 and kept going..... and going.... and going.... All the way to 100! No problems, no tripping up either! I was so proud of her and she was just as proud of herself!  She quickly left and had to go count for Daddy too and then after I dropped her off at preschool today she told her teacher she counted to 100.  And began counting right then and there.... I gave a quick goodbye at 40..."bye Ashley" .....41...42...43...and she didn't hesitate, or say goodbye back, she just kept on going.

For some reason, I thought I was a lot older when I started counting to 100.  But anyway, she just was so cute.  What a joy.

1,2,3,4,5 years.....went by way too fast. Can't believe she'll be 5 in just two short weeks.
