Sickness

It certainly seems that this year our family has been especially prone to getting sick. I realized I hadn't even posted about the holidays at all, and it was probably because of the "yuckies."  Most of December was spent with one or all of us being sick with something or other, so it kind of made it difficult to enjoy the month before Christmas day. Thanksgiving was okay except for the fact that I was afraid that I poisoned all of us because after eating the turkey and then carving into the turkey further to de-bone it, I noticed the turkey wasn't done closer to the center against the bone. I was freaking out and it just ruined my Thanksgiving.  I don't plan to cook a whole turkey for a while. The funny part is that I have done it before and it was easy and fine, but for some reason, this one didn't turn out as well. It just scared me too much to do it again for a long time.  (by the way, we were fine, but I wasted way too much of the leftovers for fear that it was contaminated and that to me was even more upsetting - I hate wasting food)  I even cook whole chickens ALL THE TIME, so I was furious.  Anywho...moving on....

Then all the real sicknesses started.... Shortly after Thanksgiving the kids got bronchitis, and then we all got the stomach bug. Poor Ashley was the worst and vomited every half hour from 2-7am the first day. Poor thing...then I got it and then Paul (thankfully Corey was spared)  Then while we were home for Christmas my Mom was sick on Christmas day (later turned out to be pneumonia). Then when we got back from New Jersey, Ashley got the croup, Paul and I got colds from her croup, then Corey got a sinus infection, and pink eye. Then a week later when Paul was out of town for a conference, Corey ended up with a 102 degree fever that lasted for 5 days.  And now, here I am with a cough and congestion that has lasted for over a week.  It's just been miserable! I am over it.

I guess the only thing I can say is that the kids immune systems are getting stronger, right?

Since I didn't post about Christmas at all... be sure to keep an eye out for it soon. Nothing like posting Christmas photos in February, right?
