Michael Jackson' and the Cirque du Soleil Show

On June 23rd, Paul and I took Ashley to see the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show. It was just as amazing as we anticipated it would be!  Ashley has been really into dancing to the Michael Jackson Wii game so she knew almost all of the songs. She even cried when the show was over because she didn't want it end. I wish we could have taped some of it, but they were pretty strict with no cameras.  We were able to capture these pics before show started.

In fact, both of our kids are on a Michael Jackson kick, so it was fitting that the show was coming around to our area during this time.  Both Ashley AND Corey sing along to "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Bad" just like my brother and I did as kids. Ashley has a pair of gold glittery shoes that resemble Michael Jackson shoes and she insists she can do the moon walk in them.(She's actually not bad!) Corey on the other hand can mimic all the dance moves to "Beat It" and has mastered the part where he sings "Beat It, Just Beat It....Ugh!" Just hearing a tiny two year old do the "ugh!" part just cracks us up!

Michael Jackson is certainly alive and well in this household! Ashley really appreciates his talent and actually has said on more than one occasion, "Wow! He's just amazing!"  I can't help but think that was what my Mom and Dad heard from my brother and me circa 1985.:) 

*And by the way, in case you were wondering....We are certainly sheltering them from the "weird Michael Jackson" years.  As far as we're concerned, the 1980s/early 1990s Michael is what they know and love. "HEEE HEEE"! (as MJ would say)
