Needless to say, Corey was a little shy at first, but once he started playing catch with his teammate, Jazz, he was super happy and excited! This kids got quite an arm, especially for being a lefty, but we are going to work on catching. Paul is excited to play catch with him to work on that skill.
When Corey got up to bat, the Coach pitched about 3 times. Corey struck out, but then they brought out the T. All the kids get that opportunity, and all of them needed it. The second time Corey went to bat, he hit the ball on the second pitch! So happy for him!
It's so cute to see these kids try and figure out what each base was and how to run and catch a ball and who to throw it too. Most of the kids (Corey included) began running to first base while holding the bat. The Coaches had to pry the bat out of their hands so that they could run better. It was hilarious to watch. It also made Paul and I feel better because Corey is right where he needs to be with his skill level. All of the kids are doing the same thing aside from maybe 1 or 2 kids. There are even two girls on his team! Pretty cool! :)
This was about when Corey started to get exhausted so he decided to put his cap on backwards and take off the glove. Silly Boy! |
We are so proud of him and are so excited to see how he'll do as the season goes! :)
