Happy 5th Birthday Corey!

Happy Birthday Corey!!! You are 5!!! I can hardly believe how fast this time has flown by. I remember the day I was going into labor like it was yesterday and now here we are five years later.
Right before going to the hospital to deliver Corey!
You are such a fun, energetic little boy. You love your big sister Ashley and want to do everything she does, but at times you are the epitome of the "annoying brother syndrome" and I need to keep you two separated. LOL

You have such a special way of showing your love and affection. You like to lean up against us and brush our arm or give lots of kisses. You always say how much you love us and are glad that we are your family. When we ask you in your prayers each night what two things you are most thankful for, you can never say just two, you always say "Mommy, Daddy, Ashley, Kitty and Tater."

You still like to be held every now and then and especially when we take you out of the car you like us to carry you into a store, etc.

You can be very stubborn at times and not want to listen to what you are told, but then there are other times that you want nothing more than to show us how good you are and that you can be a "good listener."
You love to ask how to spell words at random and also like to show us what letter certain words begin with - but you say it backwards. Like for instance, you will say that D begins with the letter Door (instead of Door begins with the letter D.)

You are silly and goofy and like to make us laugh!  You are an excellent dancer and will jump up and dance anytime you hear a beat. You are obsessed with the Super Mario Bros. game on the Wii and are REALLY REALLY good at playing it.

You love to being a helper with me in the kitchen and like to drag out the step stool so that you can stand next to me at the counter.
This is him helping me make his cupcakes for his birthday.
You just recently started playing baseball and love it (my little lefty). You really loved watching the Sandlot movie over Christmas break and have taken such an interest in the game ever since.Your favorite movies right now are The Lego Movie (you call it the "Emmett movie"), Big Hero 6, Spy Kids and The Sandlot. Your favorite TV Shows are Curious George, Super Mario Bros.(circa 1990), and occasionally Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
You have been kind of a picky eater lately and will gripe about what I cook but will usually do well after we coax you a little. You don't like eating the "green stuff". You're better about eating spaghetti sauce now...that used to be a big problem. You LOVE bean and cheese tacos and grilled cheese and tomato soup. I would say that those are your favorite foods right now. Since we discovered your sensitivity to food dyes, you have been awesome. You never whine or complain about certain foods that you can't eat and always say that you'll "give it to Ashley so she can have it."

You still love to sleep with "Bunny" and have ever since you were a baby. You've been potty trained for over a year, but lately we've had some set backs in that area - especially overnight.

Your favorite toys right now (other than playing Super Mario Bros.) is the Geo Trax train set and Legos.Your favorite color is red ("sometimes blue").

We love you so much little buddy and are so blessed to have you in our lives. Happy Birthday!!
