Since I'd be 8 months pregnant over my 30th birthday, I knew that celebrating by drinking alcohol at a bar was not going to be an option, so I figured a house party would be fun...and to make it even more fun, I thought an 80s party would be even better!! Paul really got into it and got tons of really cool decorations to make it extra special. He ordered dance lights, colored lanterns, all sorts of 80s nastalia like Fun Dip candy, candy bracelets, neon bracelets and friendship bracelets. Everyone who came got one of those as well as a pair of cool 80s sunglasses reminiscent of "the future"! He ordered a cool face cut out panel for everyone to get a photo op! He even got our bedroom TV hooked up to look like an arcade and had Pac Man on it for anyone that wanted to play. He decorated one of our pitchers to look like the Kool Aid guy and was able to get three cases of Pepsi Throwback cans to make it look even more authentic. He had our friend Doug create a Pac Man cake, and had him bake little cupcakes to look like the pellets! How original! Of course he had a specail 80s mix playing that included songs such as Beat It and the theme from Beverly Hills Cop. Paul and I busted a move to Push It by Salt n Pepa! I even rubbed my belly in the beginning of the song where they say "ooohh baby baby"!! :) We had a costume contest for best dressed and our friend Drew won a Footloose DVD for coming as Magnum PI. Almost everyone dressed up which made it even more fun! We had everything from Madonna to Miami Vice! I went with an ode to Flashdance. I had to wear something that would at least come below my big belly! I was very comfortable too! We had lots of side ponytails, frosted lipstick and high heals! It was a blast. My Dad was in town to visit for my birthday, so he was able to join in the fun - which made it even more special. It was so fun to go back in time! I really think everyone enjoyed themselves and I couldn't think of a better way to enter the next decade of my life! Thank you Paul for making my birthday party so special. It wouldn't have as great as it was without all of your hard work. I love you!

We had a punk rocker, preppy ponytail, a Robert Palmer girl, Madonna, and me as a knocked up Flashdance girl! :)
All three of us rocked the side pony!
