My Mom flew out on April 13th and stayed for a week. It was so great having her here. She helped me with cleaning and doing the laundry, as well as make lots of food for us to freeze for meals. She also came with tons of gifts for the kids and an extra little something from the Easter Bunny for Ashley. Ashley just really loved having her here and they played and laughed the whole time.

On Friday, the 16th, my Dad flew out, but my Mom had NO IDEA that he was planning on coming. Paul and I planned it so that he would have to leave to go to work for a meeting that morning. When actually he was going to the airport to pick up my Dad. Once they got home, they walked around to the front door and I had my Mom answer the door for me since I was on the couch feeding the baby. She opened the door, and there was my Dad! She was completely floored and it was so cute to see her reaction, and then realize that he was actually there to finish out their visit. It was so special and we loved surprising her!

During their visit we just hung around the house, went out to eat for a few meals and then just browsed at some stores and went for ice cream. It was very relaxing and of course went by WAY too fast, but it was a great time nonetheless. Ashley spent some time with my Dad learning to fly one of those thin plywood airplanes. It was so cute when she had to replacing a piece of the plane that kept coming off and she would say, "oh, we need to fix the rudder!" My Dad had a ball playing with her. It really was a great visit and I am sad to see them go. Thankfully, I know we'll see them again during our visit in July!
