It was the last hurrah before the kids went back to school - We met with Cathy and her boyfriend, Brian in Houston for an Astros game. Cathy's boyfriend is a big Astros fan and really wanted to go to a game. Since Corey is a huge baseball fan (and hasn't been to a major league baseball game since he was 5 months old), Cathy thought it would be fun to have us meet them there. It was a lot of fun and great meeting Brian for the first time. We drove to Houston Saturday morning and got there before 10am. We spent the afternoon at the hotel pool and then walked downtown and grabbed some lunch at Pappasito's. The game was set to start at 7, but we wanted to get there early to watch the players warm up. We also picked up some Houston Astros fan gear to get in the spirit. Prior to the game, they had a ceremony honoring their first Baseball Hall of Famer inductee, Craig Biggio. We had an awesome time and stayed the entire game. Corey was getting cranky towards the end, but he made it! To top it off, the Astros won the game against the LA Dodgers, 3-1! We left the following day after a continental breakfast provided by the hotel. The kids loved staying at the Magnolia Hotel. They both kept talking about how awesome it was! :) We were hoping to go back to the stadium for a tour of the locker rooms, etc before heading back, but we were given incorrect info from a stadium employee, so no dice. :( Instead, we decided to head over to the original Astrodome to take some photos. All in all, it was a fun weekend to visit with Cathy and meet Brian and a bonus to be able to see a baseball game!
