I think Paul and my life can be summed up in one word lately.... and that word is POOP. Honestly, since potty training Ashley, it's an all encompassing part of our daily conversation. "Has Ashley pooped today?" "What kind of poop was it?" "Did she eat enough fruits and veggies to keep her regular?" "She went through the entire night without an accident!" "Oh, she just farted...no poop." Seriously?? To top it off, we have two dogs that we have to make sure that not only did they pee, but did they poop? Lately, it's been raining outside a lot and Kitty doesn't like going potty when it's wet, so sometimes she will hold her pee and poop in all day and we're constantly running her out to make sure that she pees and poops! The biggest kicker came this morning which was the deciding factor in why I am writing this blog entry today.
Since approximately 5:00am this morning (it's a Saturday by the way) our dogs have been bothering us to go outside. Typically we wake up no later than 6:15am during the week, so this was just darn right aggravating. We kept having to shove them away until we were ready to actually get out of bed. Around 7:00am we hear Ashley in the monitor saying she's ready to get up now and that she has to go potty. So I get out of bed (which riles up the dogs once again) and go help Ashley with the potty while Paul gets up to let the dogs out. Ashley knows that she gets a piece of candy if she poops in the potty. So this morning she not only peed this morning, but she pooped, so she asked for a mini Tootsie roll. I am not super thrilled giving my child candy first thing in the morning, but she did poop and I have to keep up with what's been working. So she goes to get her Tootsie Roll and Paul and I crawl back into bed, put the TV on to a cartoon and sit with Ashley on our bed trying to savor every last ounce of bed before our day REALLY starts. Ashley finishes her candy when all of the sudden she picks up something at the edge of our bed and brings it over to us. It's still somewhat dark in the room besides the glow of the TV, so we couldn't really tell what she was holding. She said, "Look Mommy, I think I found another Tootsie Roll!" The item she was holding looked a little large to be a Tootsie Roll, and then I knew instantly what it REALLY was. "EWWWW!!!" Yep, it was a piece of dog poo that our dogs gifted to us this morning. Ughh!! Paul got that poo out of her hands so fast, and I washed them with soapy warm water as fast as I could before her fingers could get an inch to her face. (our sheets and blankets are currently being washed in hot water on a heavy duty cycle as I write this) Then we figure, okay, it's time to get up and we walk into the living room, when we saw two more dog poops on the floor. Even after being let outside (I guess it was still too wet for Kitty) that they still went inside the house. This is not a common occurrence since our dogs have been potty trained for years, so this more than aggravated us and the thought of having to clean up poop again was just down right THRILLING! :o(
This afternoon, I put Ashley down for a nap at 1:20pm, threw a load of laundry in and decided to type this blog. It is now 2:20pm and Ashley has called for me three times because she had to go poop. Coincidence? I am not surprised at all....
hahahah I love it!! Very funny.....poop blogs are my kind of thing! Everyone poops......remember? :)
