Valentines Day and Mom's Arrival

Since we had to work on Valentines Day, Paul and I exchanged our gifts to each other a little early.  Well, that was our excuse, but I know that we both couldn't wait because we love to open gifts from each other!  Paul was so sweet (as usual) and got me a big bouquet of balloons and an adorable "one of a kind" spice rack! I have been wanting to organize my spices for awhile now and this was perfect!  He found the jars separate and then saw this holder and flipped it on its side so the handle points out.  Pretty neat!

It is so adorable and sweet and so thoughtful.  I love functional gifts, but not only was this functional it was extra special because he created it all his own.  He topped off the gift with a chocolate rose and a cute card. The chocolate rose is sort of a joke. One year we were walking by a Valentine's Day display and I saw those chocolate roses and said, "Those are just so tacky and corny. Who would want a chocolate rose?!"  So now almost every year since then, he picks a chocolate rose just be a stinker! :)

I got Paul a nice shirt from the Gap, some Gap boxers and his favorite candy, Gummy Worms.  Ashley picked out a cute Phinneas and Pherb (kids tv show) Valentine card for him, and I got him a card from me too!

We got Ashley a little Valentine's Day gift as well. A special Barbie movie that she's been wanting (Barbie in a Fashion Fairytale) and some My Little Pony chocolates. 

My Mom arrived for a visit on Saturday, the 12th, and we celebrated Christmas together along with Valentines Day and my 31st Birthday!  Her are some pics from the day she arrived...Yes, Mom brought all of her gifts for us and the kids from Christmas so she could share in the joy of us opening them together. It was loads of fun!
