My Dad called me about 9:00 this morning to do our weekly web cam visit, and he said that my brother, sister-in-law and nephew were over and wanted to visit too! So I thought, great I can see everyone together! Once we log on to Skype and everyone is in the same room, they ask me to look at Johnny's new shirt. On the little baseball shirt, it says "Big Brother"! I was so excited! They are about 7 weeks along and Melisa is doing well. Just a little nauseous. The due date is December 14th, another December baby. We're planning on trying for baby number 2 this summer after Disneyland, so Melisa and I may be pregnant at the same time! :o) The funny part is, last weekend, I was having a web cam visit with John Michael and Melisa and I asked them if they were going to try for another baby soon and they said that they were already trying but no luck yet. They of course already knew, but were waiting to tell everyone together once the "Big Brother" t-shirt came in the mail. I am so happy to have another little niece or nephew.
Congrats John & Melisa!

Two Cute Ashley-ism's
1. We're sitting at the dinner table and Ashley points her finger at me and says, "Mommy, you're goofy!"
2. She makes these funny eyes, almost like she is squinting and say's "I have broken eyes". LOL

A Spoon and a "Cut-It"
I know that by the title of this post, you must be confused. Well, here's the story. Last night while I was cooking dinner, Ashley was busy setting the table. And by setting the table, I mean taking out ALL of her plastic utensils out of "her" drawer and setting them in a pile on the dining room table. She was asking me which one I wanted "Mommy, do you want the blue spoon or the pink spoon?" I said blue. Then she said, "I got a blue cut-it too!" I looked up and saw that she was holding a blue plastic kids knife (don't worry, it is meant for little kids - very dull). I realized that she was calling the knife a "cut-it". I guess she associates it when we say "Ashley, let me cut-it up for you." This kid cracks me up!

Sea World Sesame Street Show
Last Saturday, we took Ashley and our niece Claire to the Sesame Street show at Sea World. It was a chilly, rainy day, but it was nice and cozy inside the theater to see the show. We got there early and were in the 2nd row, so Elmo was very close by and she LOVED it. Here are some pictures and video from that day.
Ummm....it's not a Yo-Yo
Somehow, Ashley got into something she probably shouldn't have. See for yourself...

Easter
What a lovely Easter Sunday! We were expecting rain that day, but it ended up being a beautiful, cloudless sky. The kind of sky you picture in your mind when you think of Easter Sunday. Ashley woke to her Easter basket from the Easter Bunny filled with stickers, coloring books, puzzles and candy. Then we went to church and saw our friends, Lindsey and Jaime and their two little boys, Noah and Jude. After church, we met up with Paul's family (parents and extended family) at the Dominion country club for a delicious Easter brunch. It was the most wonderful brunch I had ever seen. I enjoyed several of the food choices, including a poached egg on a crab cake. Interesting combo, but DELICIOUS!! There were so many lovely choices like smoked salmon and cream cheese on bagels as well as several "lunch" type choices like baked salmon, shredded pork, and grilled asparagus with priscuitto ham. I even had an Irish coffee and a slice of chocolate turtle cake!! YUMMO!! I gave up chocolate for Lent, so I was thrilled to eat the chocolate! :o) There was even food for the kids. Ash had mac and cheese and sausage. After the brunch, we went to Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Travy's house for some Easter festivities, including an egg hunt!! Ashley played in the sandbox while the bigger kids dyed easter eggs inside. Then it was time for the hunt. Ashley did such a good job. Aunt Cheryl not only had candy in the eggs, but she also put some money in some of them. Ashley collected tons of candy and some money for her piggy bank! Not only did Aunt Cheryl have the wonderful hunt planned but each of the girls got a beautiful Easter basket charm for their James Avery charm bracelets. Thank you so much Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Travy for all of the wonderful Easter gifts, brunch and fun festivities at your home. It was a beautiful and blessed day with wonderful weather and people we love. He has Risen! Hallelujah!!
Go, Spurs, Go!!

Paul and I went to see the Spurs play the Utah Jazz on Friday night. It was a blast! We even got to go into the locker room after the game! What an awesome experience. It was fan appreciation night so we got lots of freebies and coupons.
P.S. Just kidding about the locker room...did I have ya fooled??? Since it was fan appreciation night they had a backdrop where you could get a photo and it looked like you were inside the locker room. Pretty neat, huh?? :o)

Easter Eggs
Over the last two days, we dyed and decorated Easter Eggs with Ashley. She was so excited and loved how the color looked on the eggs. We bought a kit (last year for half off..hehehe...I love a bargain) with Sesame Street characters and stickers. She had a ball! While we were decorating the eggs, some of them started cracking and I figured, why not open up the egg and show her what a hard boiled egg looked like inside. Well, she was quite intrigued and wanted to see more, so eventually all of her eggs were smashed to smithereens, but it was fun. As she was smashing and opening up all the eggs, she was singing "here comes Peter Cottontail". It is absolutely precious. I hope you enjoy!
Our little Ashley
Just wanted to write a quick post on some of the cute things Ashley has been saying lately.
Whenever she falls or is in another room and we can't see whether she dropped something or actually fell, she yells to us "I'M OKAY!". She is so used to us asking if she is okay, I guess she figured she better inform us before we ask. :)
Another cute phrase is "That's soooo cool!" She uses it in the correct context too. For instance, last night I was baking cupcakes for her daycare Easter party today, and I used some food coloring to dye the icing. She really liked when I was stiring up the color in the icing and said, "Woooahhh Mommy, that's so cool!" It kills me to hear a little 2 and a half year old saying that things are cool. :)
When she wants us to stop what we're doing and sit and play with her, she tells us "Sit down for me."
It is just natural for Paul and I to "quiz" Ashley on things we see and do. For example, if we are driving and see a red car, we say "Ashley, what color is that car?" Or we ask her "What sound does a dog make?", etc. Well, I guess Ashley is so used to this that she started "quizzing" us! Now she asks us, "Daddy, what color is Tater (our black lab)?" And Paul will answer, "Black!" and then Ashley says with a big smile "That's RIGHT Daddy!" Like we do when she gets a correct answer. It is adorable.

Race for the Cure
Paul, Ashley and I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this past Saturday. We were joined by Paul's Aunt Cheryl and her mother, Gena. It was a blast and a beautiful day to boot! It was amazing to see over 30,000 people all in one place. All along the race route there were different types of entertainment like hip hop dancers, bands and cheerleaders. Lots of teams had really cool ideas for names. There was one group that were named "Bosom Buddies" and they all had decorated bras ON TOP of their shirts. I attached a photo of them here. After the race, Paul and I went to lunch with Aunt Cheryl and Gena to the Riverwalk Hard Rock Cafe. So between walking a 5K, walking to and from our parked car as well as strolling along the Riverwalk, I'd say we walked over 5 miles that day!!

No April Foolin' - Vincent DiMaio is here!
Paul's sister, Camille, gave birth to her fourth child and first son, Vincent Joseph DiMaio on April 1st. He is perfect and sweet little boy and we are so blessed to have him join the family. We all got to be there to witness the birth (even Cathy flew in), and little Teresa cut the umbilical cord. Camille was induced at 6:00am and he was born at 1:15pm after only 3 big pushes!! You go girl! Ashley now has a little "Cousin Vinnie"! Welcome to the family Vincent. We love you so much!
